OK, the picture above is a bit misleading. That’s not a mini-McDonald’s so much as a McCafe kiosk. This particular stand sits on Orchard Road in the ritzy shopping district of Singapore, although the actual location of this kiosk was in front of the not-so-posh Lucky Plaza (with cell phone shops and other flea market type stalls.) Inside Lucky Plaza, however, was a flull blown McDonald’s and I spent a couple meals there so that I could sample some unique items. But first, let’s take a quick look at some menu snaps.
This cereal thing above was strange. This is apparently a Southeast Asia specialty, described on their website as an oishii favorite. Oishii is Japanese for tasty. It’s a SHRIMP SANDWICH! Not being a fish guy, I passed on this, but I did think the fish-shaped “Fish Dippers” with tartar sauce were cute.
They really do breakfast right at the Singapore McDonald’s!
Over the next couple of weeks we’ll review two of the items on the “Signature Collection” menu pictured above: The Spicy Chicken with Apple Slaw” and the “Classic Cheese with Angus Beef” sandwiches.
