In my email this week I received an ad for McDonald’s new 1,2,3 Dollar menu. Proudly advertising lower-priced offerings from $1 to $3 I scrolled through the email and saw some of the menu offerings (below). But what’s wrong with this picture?
Um, yeah. Where’s the $1 item? Well, turns out McDonald’s probably didn’t want to highlight the fact that there’s nothing really new for a buck. Here’s the breakdown:
$1
- Cheeseburger
- McChicken
- Sausage Burrito
- Any Size Soft Drink
$2
- Bacon McDouble
- 2pc Buttermilk Crispy Tenders
- Sausage McGriddles
- Small McCafe
$3
- Triple Cheeseburger
- New Classic Chicken Sandwich
- Sausage McMuffin with Egg
- Happy Meal
So, some new pricing on some old stuff but the dollar items are the same ones they’ve been for a while. OK, fine. But if you’re going to advertise a $1 to $3 menu then it’d be nice to include a mention of what you can get on the lower end.
