Capriotti’s Capastrami Review

capriottis capastrami

I’d never been to Capriotti’s before trying it last month. For those of you who haven’t tried it, Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop is a small nationwide sandwich chain with a handful of locations in major cities. Founded in Delaware in 1976, they make hot and cold sandwiches and salads, starting with their turkey sandwich “for real turkey lovers.”

Not that I have anything against turkey, but it’s pretty hard for me to pass up pastrami when I see it on the menu. So I tried the Capastrami. Pictured above is the half sub and salad “Capture 2 Favorites” combo. As you can see, it’s a substantial meal and only set me back $8.49.

The pastrami sandwich was very tasty. The ingredients (grilled pastrami, cole slaw, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing) worked well together, especially the tang of the cole slaw and dressing. A nice little sandwich – I could’ve easily eaten a full sub.

As you can see from the pic, you get a really good-sized salad with more protein than you can shake a stick at. I appreciated the chopped ingredients – salads are always more fun chopped.

If you get a chance, I suggest skipping the larger sandwich chains and giving Capriotti’s a try. And you can check out the menu on our site here.
