I rarely go to A&W. There used to be one by my house, a dual concept with KFC, but when it closed during the last recession I had no easy way of getting to one. So on a recent trip to Montreal I stopped by and have it a try. It was like visiting an old friend.
First off, the menu. I love how A&W is labeling their main burger menu like a family. First off, this is in French so there’s the Mama, The Papa, The Teen, The Double Teen, The Oncle, and the Grand-papa. They have others, like the Mozzarella-covered and uncreatively-named Mozza and the appealing “burger au Poulet Chubby” (Chubby Chicken Burger.) Plus, if you want your family to have friends over, they got you covered. Just order a Buddy or two. Fun!
The burger at the beginning of this article and in the pics below is the Teen. It’s a straightforward bacon cheeseburger. It was delicious. Juicy, flavorful and tasted home made. The fries were crispy and golden brown. A great meal.
