For instance -- at the nearest one to my house you can order their Sonic burger, fried and medium drink for $4.39 plus tax. Well, I ordered this during their happy hour (drinks are half-price) so I would have expected to be charged the $4.39 LESS 1/2 of the drink price, which would have been $3.74 plus tax, however I was charged full price for the burger and fries ($2.69 plus $1.49) and half price for the drink (.65) which came to a total of $4.83 plus tax -- which was MORE than the offer to begin with. When I questioned it I was told I could only have one special offer per item. When I questioned as to why I was not given the cheaper price ($4.39) I was told "I don't know" and they turned and walked away.
